Betta feeding problem again?

Hi i have a 39 gallon tank with one male betta, 3 dwarf platies, and 1 small type of plecostomos i don't know what kind. Everyone seems happy and healthy but recently my betta seems extremely hungry but when i feed him his food it seems too hard for him to eat. I give him betta pellets and i soften them for a long time before giving them to him but they still seem too hard for him to eat. I'm afraid he's not getting enough food. Is there any other kind of betta food that is softer and easier to eat that i could try? He doesn't like the flake food i give to the other fish so i don't know what to give him now. Please help! i want him to be a happy and healthy betta. He seems fine other than not getting enough food. Thanks
Answers:
Try frozen blood worms. You can get these at most fish stores or pet stores that sell fish. Ask about them if you can't find any. Most bettas love them. You just use a knife tip to pick out a bit and then put them in a bit of tank water to thaw them and then they are nice and soft and easy for the fish to eat. They are also a good source of protein. The betta can just slurp them down like a little red piece of spaghetti. My betta loves it if I hold one just above the surface of the water so that he can strike at it and catch it himself. I think he enjoys thinking he is a fierce hunter of worms and bugs. :)
Tubifex worms are also a good idea as they are nice and small, but they can be harder to find. Live microworms are also small and a good food for bettas. You can grow these yourself from cultures if you buy one off of the intranet. Some fish stores carry them, but not too many. You can ask around, or try this link if you want to get some:

You can also feed it Tetra Betta Min. They also enjoy tubifex worms, frozen bloodworms, or brine shrimp.

My betta has the same problem. I just put a handful of pellets inside a ziploc bag and pound on the food a few times to get them to smaller sizes. After that, they just eat them like crazy. Sometimes it's no the food that deters them from eating, it is the size of the food.
But if you don't want to try that, try a brand called "TetraBetta". Bettas will eat those, and they are flakes.
frozen blood worms usually work fine. i feed my community tank hikari micro pellets so there is lots floating around on top for everyone to get to.
