Betta acts strange?

I just bought a betta today and from the moment I put it in the tank it has been acting nuts. It stays in the one corner near the plant, toward the top. It swims on it's side and seems to be chasing something while splashing around. The other betta acts fine. I have them in a small divided tank. Is this normal?
Answers:
It sounds like your tank isn't cycled and you have an ammonia spike in there
Change 50% of the water right a way with a gravelsiphon
And put 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt into a 1 gallon jug to dissolve and poor it slowly in
Repeat that treatment every day including a 25%waterchange

Hope that helps
Good luck

it's called fin rott don't worry it's easily treated. if you go to your local pet store they tell you about it well good luck
If his tail is falling apart then he may have fin rot. Since he's on his side swimming then I'm going to guess he may have some other bacteria problems, too. If the tank is divided, this can spread to your other fish, too, so it's best to go ahead and treat the whole tank. Add in some aquarium salt and some bettafix. Keep the water very clean.
