how many oscars can you put into a 55 gallon aquarium and dont tell me none because i know people who have 2 or 3 in theres healthy wiothout fighting i just want to know how many can go into a 55 gallon tank and none of that stupid 1 in per gallon

2, until they get about 8-10 inches. once they are full grown, you could only have one in a 55 gallon. i only have one 12 inch oscar in my 55 gallon, and i could not have any more than that in that tank.
If you want a healthy fish that lives a full, long life: One. If you want your fish to die early from disease, aggression, etc., feel free to add 2 or 3. But, yes, you're right. That 1 inch per gallon is stupid.
Two should be suficiant because they get really big, we have a 75 gallon and we put oscars and red devils together when they were younger, and they didn't fight, but once they got big, even though the oscar was bigger than the red devil the RD killed him by picking at him, also the RD also killed the female RD as well, now he is the king of the tank, but he doesn't bother the other fish!! YET! So oscars TWO! Don't over do them. They make the tank dirty too so you have to be really careful...Good luck and enjoy!
It is safe to say two, I have 2 red oscar's and they never fight, that's because we think there are male and female, and one day are going to try and have baby's :) But the 1 inch per gallon rule never worked for me. Good luck.
