All my acuarium plants are turning black?

WHat can I do?
Answers:
You might want to check the water conditions and the lighting. For plants to live they need food(fertilizer). Some require a lot more lighting than others. If your using the light that came with your tank you might run into a problem raising plants. Some plants can't live in certain ph levels. I'm assuming your fish aren't biting them since they are only turning black. Lastly, I hate to ask this but what type of plants are they? Many stores *cough petco* will sell aquarium plants that aren't made for aqariums at all! These plants will live in your aquarium for maybe a month or two and then slowly start to die. Nothing you can do about it as those plants aren't suppose to be in an aquarium. I suggest finding out the names of the plants and giving google a run to find out more about them.
That means they have s type of bacteria or fungi on them. If the leaves feel the same as always, then something in the water made them turn that color. But if they are bumpy, i would be careful, cause then it could be bacteria. Buts its always good to be safe and get new aquarium plants. And then check if it comes back. if it does, then that means you might need to get a newtank and everything.
could be a sign that there is algae in the tank which means you should clean the tank.
do you leave your light on all night ? it could be algae growing on them.
Try removing them and putting them in a basin of water then add some anti-bacterial or anti-fungal medicine to it. The medicine can be purchased from a pet shop or one that specialises in fishes. Just follow the instructions on the back. If that doesn't work, try getting new plants for your aquarium as the old ones are probably dying already. Also make sure that the plants are getting enough light and that there aren't too many on the aquarium as they will compete for resources and some will die.
First of all, are they live or fake? And, how long are you leaving the light on each day? And,, are they fresh or salt?
If they are fake and freshwater, you should probably get a sucker-fish or two. They are like little vacuums! (If they are fake and saltwater, I suggest you pull them out because the plastic/material in/on the fake plants probably will harm them.)
If they are live, I suggest you limit the light being on for about 5-7 hrs a day, because it might be a deadly type of algea(sp?), eiter leave the light off more or get a special s/w brush used for cleaning algea.
